Football League First Division 1969/70

The Football League First Division 1970/71 was the 72nd season of the highest English football league . It began on August 15, 1970 and ended on May 5, 1971.

The Arsenal won with one point ahead of Leeds United 's now eighth English championship. Of the two promoted Blackpool and Huddersfield Town , only the club from Huddersfield could hold the class; in addition to Blackpool, Burnley FC had to go into the Second Division . These two clubs should be replaced in the following season by the two second division promoted Sheffield United and Leicester City .

A total of 475 players were used, with Arsenal FC having the fewest with 16 and Blackpool FC having the most players in league games with 29. 85 newcomers opposed 83 footballers, who last came into play in the 1971/72 season. 28 players were able to play all 42 league games in their club.

    The Arsenal FC championship team

The following list lists all players who played in a league game for Arsenal FC during the 1970/71 season. It must be noted that in English football a minimum number of games is usually required in order to receive the official championship medal. Since there was uncertainty about the specific regulation before the introduction of the Premier League, all players who presumably did not receive a championship medal due to their low contribution were marked with an asterisk (*). The number of missions and the goals scored are given in brackets.
