Edward Patrick "Eddie" Kelly (born February 7, 1951 in Glasgow ) is a former Scottish football player .

life and career

Kelly began his career with Arsenal in July 1966 . Initially only used in the second team and in the youth, he made his debut against Sheffield Wednesday on September 6, 1969. That year he was used another 16 times. Kelly even scored a goal in the UEFA Cup final triumph against RSC Anderlecht in 1970. At the FA Cup final in 1971, which the Gunners won, Kelly scored the equalizer as the joker to make it 1-1. He was the very first substitute player to score in the FA Cup Final. He also won the English championship this season. After a few injuries, the Scot got back on the road to success and became the youngest captain in the club's history after Tony Adams . After further problems with injuries while he was still under contract with Arsenal, he moved to Queens Park Rangers in September 1976 . After only one season with the Rangers, it went on to Leicester City . After three years at Leicester, he ended his career at Notts County , AFC Bournemouth and Torquay United . Internationally, Kelly was only called up for the U-23 selection of Scotland. Kelly lives in Torquay today .
