Jon Sammels

Jonathon Charles "Jon" Sammels (born July 23, 1945 in Ipswich ) is a former English football player .

life and career

Sammels began his career at Arsenal , his favorite club, as a youth in 1961. After two relatively successful years as a player in the reserve and youth teams, he made his competitive debut for the Gunners on April 27, 1963. The midfielder, with strengths such as a good shot, overview and technique, was able to prevail at Arsenal. Sammels was a regular player until the UEFA Cup success in 1970. In the following double year he was only a substitute and decided in 1971 to move to Leicester City . He played at Leicester for the next seven years of his career. In 1978 he went to Canada for a year to support the Vancouver Whitecaps. The next year, Sammels ended his career and returned to England . Today Jon Sammels working as a driving instructor in the London district of Leicester .
