The Football League First Division 1962/63 was the 64th season of the highest English football league . It began on August 18, 1962 and ended on May 21, 1963.
The Everton won with six points ahead of Tottenham Hotspur 's now sixth English championship. Of the two promoted Liverpool and Leyton Orient only the club from Liverpool could hold the class; in addition to Leyton Orient, Manchester City had to go into the Second Division . These two clubs should be replaced in the following season by the two second division promoted Chelsea and Stoke City .
A total of 480 players were used, with Leicester City with 17 the fewest and West Ham United with 27 the most players in league games. 104 newcomers were opposed to 100 footballers who last came into play in the 1962/63 season. 24 players were able to play all 42 league games in their club.

The championship team of Everton FC
The following list lists all players who played in a league game for Everton during the 1962/63 season. It must be noted that in English football a minimum number of games is usually required in order to receive the official championship medal. Since there was uncertainty about the specific regulation before the introduction of the Premier League, all players who presumably did not receive a championship medal due to their low contribution were marked with an asterisk (*). The number of missions and the goals scored are given in brackets.

- ↑ It can be assumed that 14 games had to be played. As a result, Ray Veall had not received a medal because he was missing three appearances. But 51 years later he was still honored after the minimum had been reduced further and further over the course of time.
