Football League First Division 1932/33

The Football League First Division 1933/34 was the 42nd season of the highest English football league . It began on August 1, 1933 and ended on May 5, 1934.

The Arsenal won with three points ahead of Huddersfield Town 's now third English Championship. Both newly promoted Stoke City and Tottenham Hotspur could hold the class; instead, Newcastle United and Sheffield United had to move into the Second Division . These two clubs should be replaced in the following season by the two second division promoted Grimsby Town and Preston North End .

A total of 526 players were used, with Portsmouth FC, Sunderland AFC and Tottenham Hotspur with 20 the fewest and Birmingham FC and Manchester City with 29 the most players in league games. 147 newcomers opposed 118 footballers who last came into play in the 1933/34 season. 22 players were able to play all 42 league games in their club.

    The Arsenal FC championship team

The following list lists all players who played in a league game for Arsenal FC during the 1933/34 season. It must be noted that in English football a minimum number of games is usually required in order to receive the official championship medal. Since there was uncertainty about the specific regulation before the introduction of the Premier League, all players who presumably did not receive a championship medal due to their low contribution were marked with an asterisk (*). The number of appearances and the goals scored are given in brackets, lastly the number of all first division games up to that point. The Arsenal players had played a total of 3,051 top division games at the end of the season.
