Football League First Division 1974/75

The Football League First Division 1975/76 was the 77th season of the highest English football league . It began on August 16, 1975 and ended on May 4, 1976.

The Liverpool won by a single point in front of the Queens Park Rangers 's now ninth English championship. Behind them followed with three more points less promoted Manchester United and defending champion Derby County . In addition to "United", the other two promoted Aston Villa and Norwich City could keep the class; instead, Wolverhampton Wanderers , Burnley FC , and Sheffield United had to move into the Second Division . These three clubs should be replaced in the following season by the three second division promoted West Bromwich Albion , Bristol City and AFC Sunderland .

A total of 484 players were used, with Queens Park Rangers with 17 the fewest and Sheffield United with 28 the most players in league games. 101 newcomers opposed 121 footballers, who last came into play in the 1975/76 season. 28 players were able to play all 42 league games in their club.

The championship team of Liverpool FC

The following table lists all players who played in a league game for Liverpool FC during the 1975/76 season. It must be noted that in English football a minimum number of games is usually required in order to receive the official championship medal. Since there was uncertainty about the specific regulation before the introduction of the Premier League, all players who presumably did not receive a championship medal due to their low contribution were marked with an asterisk (*). The number of missions and the goals scored are given in brackets.
