Football League First Division 1906/07

The Football League First Division 1907/08 was the 20th season of England's top football league . It began on September 2, 1907 and ended on April 29, 1908.

Manchester United won the English championship for the first time in the club's history, each nine points ahead of Aston Villa and Manchester City . Both promoted Nottingham Forest and Chelsea FC were able to receive the class. Instead, the Bolton Wanderers and Birmingham FC had to go into the Second Division . These two clubs should be replaced in the following season by the two second division promoted Bradford City and Leicester Fosse .

A total of 512 players were used, with Nottingham Forest with 19 the fewest and Newcastle United with 33 the most players in league games. 137 newcomers opposed 148 footballers who last came into play in the 1907/08 season. 9 players were able to play all 38 league games of their club.

    The Manchester United championship team

The following table lists all players who played for Manchester United in a league game during the 1907/08 season. It must be noted that in English football a minimum number of games is usually required in order to receive the official championship medal. Since there was uncertainty about the specific regulation before the introduction of the Premier League, all players who presumably did not receive a championship medal due to their low contribution were marked with an asterisk (*). The number of missions and the goals scored are given in brackets.
