Football League First Division 1968/69

The Football League First Division 1969/70 was the 71st season of the highest English football league . It began on August 9, 1969 and ended on May 2, 1970.

The Everton won with nine points ahead of defending champions Leeds United 's now seventh English championship. Both newly promoted Derby County and Crystal Palace were able to hold the class; instead, Sunderland AFC and Sheffield Wednesday had to move into the Second Division . These two clubs should be replaced in the following season by the two second division promoted Huddersfield Town and Blackpool FC .

A total of 490 players were used, with Everton and Derby County with 17 the fewest and Ipswich Town and Burnley with 27 the most players in league games. 92 newcomers were opposed to 102 footballers who last came into play in the 1969/70 season. 21 players were able to play all 42 league games of their club.

The championship team of Everton FC

The following list lists all players who played in a league game for Everton during the 1969/70 season. It must be noted that in English football a minimum number of games is usually required in order to receive the official championship medal. Since there was uncertainty about the specific regulation before the introduction of the Premier League, all players who presumably did not receive a championship medal due to their low contribution were marked with an asterisk (*). The number of missions and the goals scored are given in brackets.
