Football League First Division 1925/26

The Football League First Division 1926/27 was the 35th season of the highest English football league . It began on August 28, 1926 and ended on May 7, 1927.

Newcastle United won the fourth English championship in their club history with five points ahead of defending champions Huddersfield Town . Both newly promoted The Wednesday and Derby County were able to hold the class; instead, Leeds United and West Bromwich Albion had to move into the Second Division . These two clubs should be replaced in the following season by the two second division promoted Middlesbrough FC and Portsmouth FC .

A total of 553 players were used, with Newcastle United with 21 the fewest and Everton with 33 the most players in league games. 135 newcomers opposed 136 footballers who last came into play in the 1926/27 season. 21 players were able to play all 42 league games of their club.

    The Newcastle United championship team

The following list lists all players who played in a league game for Newcastle United during the 1926/27 season. It must be noted that in English football a minimum number of games is usually required in order to receive the official championship medal. Since there was uncertainty about the specific regulation before the introduction of the Premier League, all players who presumably did not receive a championship medal due to their low contribution were marked with an asterisk (*). The number of missions and the goals scored are given in brackets.
