Sheffield United (officially Sheffield United Football Club ) - also known as The Blades ( German Die Klingen ) - is an English football club . Along with Sheffield Wednesday, it is one of two major football teams in the city of Sheffield . Sheffield United has played in the Premier League since the 2019/20 season and has its sporting home in Bramall Lane . It is the oldest stadium where professional football is still played.
The highest number of spectators reached the team on February 15, 1936 in a game in the FA Cup against Leeds United with 68,287 visitors.

The club was founded in 1854 as a cricket and soccer club and quickly became one of the top teams in the soccer league. Sheffield United won the FA Cup in 1899 (4-1 against Derby County ), 1902 (1-1 and 2-1 against Southampton FC ), 1915 (3-0 against Chelsea FC ) and 1925 (1-0 against Cardiff City ) and became league champions in 1898 and runners-up in 1897 and 1900. 2006 succeeded with the second place in the Football League Championship, the return to the first class, but the club rose again after only one season. Then you stayed in the midfield of the second division. In the 2010/11 season United finished penultimate and thus rose to the third English professional league.
In the League Cup 2014/15 , Sheffield United reached the semi-finals as the third division, which was lost to Tottenham Hotspur with a total score of 2: 3 . On the way to the semi-finals, United was able to record victories over Burnley , West Ham and Southampton , who were participants in the Premier League this season .
