Patrick Joseph "Paddy" Kenny (born May 17, 1978 in Halifax , England ) is an Irish football player . The goalkeeper has been under contract with FC Bury since November 2015 .

Career

Club football

Kenny's youth club was Bradford Park Avenue . He was accepted into the first team there in 1998, but then moved to Bury FC . There he was under contract from 1999 to 2002. At the beginning of the 2002/03 season, the goalkeeper moved to Sheffield United . His greatest achievement was promotion to the Premier League in 2006/07 . As the third from bottom, the stay in the English House of Lords was short-lived, together with Charlton Athletic and Watford FC , they returned to the second division. In September 2009, the English Football Association banned Kenny after the doping agent ephedrine was detected in the promotion game to the championship . During the 2010/11 season he was under contract with the Queens Park Rangers . In July 2012, he signed his current contract with Leeds United .

At his new club, Paddy Kenny quickly established himself as a goalkeeper and was used in 44 league games. Already three game days before the end of the season, QPR celebrated promotion to the Premier League in the Football League Championship 2010/11 . Kenny was named the Football League Championship's PFA Team of the Year for his strong performances .

International

Kenny played seven times for the Irish national football team between 2004 and 2006 .
