The Football League Second Division 1966/67 was the 64th season of the Football League Second Division as the second highest English football league . It began on August 20, 1966 and ended on May 13, 1967.

Second division champions were Coventry City and the second-placed Wolverhampton Wanderers also rose to the Football League First Division . For the two promoted players in the following second division season 1967/68, the two first division clubs Aston Villa and FC Blackpool, ranked in the table below, took the places. Northampton Town and FC Bury had to relegate from the Second Division to the Football League Third Division . Instead of the two clubs, the third division winners Queens Park Rangers and third division champions FC Middlesbrough took the vacant positions in the following season 1967/68 .
