Premier League 2018/19

The EFL Championship 2018/19 was the 15th season of the English EFL Championship and at the same time the 27th season of the top division of the English Football League - after the introduction of the Premier League - as only the second highest English league. The season began on August 3, 2018 with Reading FC's game against Derby County and ended on May 27, 2019 with the final of the promotion play-offs.

Teams

A total of 24 teams played in the English second division, including 18 from the 2017/18 season . As a climber from the EFL League One 2017/18 came Wigan Athletic , the Blackburn Rovers and Rotherham United to do so. The three relegated teams from the Premier League 2017/18 completed the field: Swansea City , Stoke City and West Bromwich Albion . Wolverhampton Wanderers , Cardiff City and Fulham FC were no longer represented as promoted to the Premier League 2018/19 and Barnsley FC , Burton Albion and AFC Sunderland as relegated to EFL League One 2018/19 .

    Play-off games

    The play-off games were played out after the regular season by means of semi-finals and finals. The two semi-finals took place on May 11th, the second leg on May 14th and 15th. The final took place on May 27, 2019. The winner rose to the Premier League 2019/20 .
