The Ewood Park is a football stadium in Blackburn .

The stadium has been home to the English football club Blackburn Rovers since 1890 . In addition, there were several games of the European Women's Championship in 2005 .

history

Ewood Park, built in 1882, was renovated in 1905, 1915, and most recently from 1987 to 1995. The number of seats was reduced and today the stadium only offers 31,367 seats. As a result, the record attendance dated March 2, 1929, when 62,522 spectators attended the Cup game against Bolton Wanderers , can no longer be surpassed.

In the 1990s, three grandstands were completely rebuilt. The two rear stands and one of the two straights. All have the same height and almost the same architecture. The field of play is raised, which means that players have to walk minimally uphill when taking a throw-in or corner kick.

In front of the stadium is a statue of Jack Walker, the club's former owner.

Since the Blackburn Rovers was the only English club to win the FA Cup three times in a row, the club is allowed to use the club crest on the corner flags.
