The Britannia Stadium ( sponsored by bet365 Stadium ) is a football stadium in the English city of Stoke-on-Trent . It is the home and property of Stoke City Football Club .
history
The opening took place on August 27, 1997. The Britannia Stadium currently has 30,089 spectators. It replaced the Victoria Ground , where the club was based from 1878 to 1997 for a total of 119 years. The stadium was first named after the Britannia Building Society , the name of which is derived from the national figure of Britannia .
In April 2016 it was announced that Stoke City had signed a sponsorship agreement for six years with the betting company bet365 from Stoke-on-Trent. As of the 2016/17 season , the Potters' home ground will be called the bet365 Stadium . Nothing was published about the financial volume of the agreement. The corner of the stadium between the DPD stand and the Sharp stand was also closed. This additional building was completed for the 2017/18 season and provided an additional 1,800 seats.

Average attendance and visitor record
On March 17, 2018 in the 2017/18 Premier League match against Everton , the record number of 30,022 visitors was set. In the old Victoria Ground, the record was set on March 29, 1937 in the game of the Football League First Division 1936/37 against FC Arsenal with 51,380 spectators.
