The Football League Championship 2015/16 was the twelfth season of the English Football League Championship and at the same time the 24th season of the top division of the Football League - after the introduction of the Premier League - as only the second highest English league. The season began on August 8, 2015 and ended on May 2, 2016. Bristol City , Milton Keynes Dons and Preston North End were promoted. Relegated from the Premier League were Hull City , Burnley FC and the Queens Park Rangers , who complete the field of 24 teams.

Teams

A total of 24 teams will play in the English second division, including 18 from the 2014/15 season , three promoted teams from Football League One 2014/15 and three relegated teams from the 2014/15 Premier League .
