Tomer Hemed ( Hebrew תומר חמד); (Born May 2, 1987 in Haifa ) is an Israeli soccer player who has been under contract with the English second division club Charlton Athletic since 2019 . Because of his ancestors, he also has Polish citizenship .

Maccabi Haifa

Tomer Hemed made his debut at the end of the 2005/06 season in the Ligat ha'Al for his youth club Maccabi Haifa and won his first Israeli championship with the team. In the following seasons was mostly loaned to other Israeli teams and made the final breakthrough in the 2009/10 season at Maccabi Ahi Nazareth with nine goals in thirty-three league games. However, his club retired in the relegation relegation from the first division. After this season, Hemed (31 games / 13 goals) won a regular place at Maccabi Haifa for the first time and won the Israeli championship with his team before Hapoel Tel Aviv .

RCD Mallorca

On June 18, 2011, the Spanish first division club RCD Mallorca signed him . Hemed got along well in the Primera División straight away and scored five goals in the first few games. With Mallorca he was relegated to the Segunda División in 2013 .

UD Almería

In the summer of 2014 he moved to the first division UD Almería . At Almería he could never become a regular.

Brighton & Hove Albion

After Almería was relegated to the second division, he moved to England in the summer of 2015 to the second division side Brighton & Hove Albion , where he signed a contract that was valid until June 2018. In the 2018/19 season he was awarded to the Queens Park Rangers .

Charlton Athletic

In August 2019, he signed a one-year contract with English second division club Charlton Athletic .

National team

Tomer Hemed made his debut on June 4, 2011 in qualifying for the European Football Championship 2012 against Latvia for the Israeli national team. He scored his first goal on September 6, 2011 in a 3-1 defeat in Croatia. As third in the table behind Greece and Croatia, Israel missed participation in the 2012 European Football Championship .
