Benjamin Paul "Ben" Amos (born April 10, 1990 in Macclesfield ) is an English football player on the position of goalkeeper.

Career

At the age of eleven, Amos joined the youth division of Manchester United as a youth player from Crewe Alexandra . For the U-18 youth team of United, he made his debut game on October 8, 2005 as a substitute in the 2-0 defeat by Bolton Wanderers . The reason for his substitution was a dismissal against goalkeeper Ron-Robert Zieler . In the course of the season, however, he came to no further assignments. In the following season he ran regularly for the team. Because of his achievements, he was allowed to take part in the first team's South Africa trip in 2008. However, he was not used in the three games. It was only in the friendly against Portsmouth FC that he finally made his debut for the professionals when he came on for Tomasz Kuszczak in the 76th minute . His first competitive game was on September 23, 2008 in the third round of the League Cup against Middlesbrough FC .

Amos was also nominated for the Club World Cup in December 2008 in Japan due to an injury to Ben Foster . On October 29, 2009 Amos was loaned to Peterborough United for a month , where he played his only game on October 31 in the 2-1 loss to Barnsley. After his return to Manchester, he was awarded to the Norwegian club Molde FK in March 2010 . For the 2011/12 season Amos is the fourth goalkeeper for the professionals behind David de Gea , Anders Lindegaard and Tomasz Kuszczak . Later he was able to oust Tomasz Kuszczak as the third goalkeeper and finally made his Premier League debut on January 31, 2012 in a 2-0 win over Stoke City . In late May 2012, Amos extended his contract with Manchester United by three years until the end of the 2014/15 season.

For the 2012/13 season, Amos was loaned to Hull City . At the beginning of January 2013 he will return to Manchester.

In mid-November 2013, Amos was loaned to Carlisle United for a month . The loan agreement was later extended to January 1, 2014.

On January 30, 2015, Amos was loaned to Bolton Wanderers for a month . At the beginning of March the loan was extended for another month. He completed nine missions by April and then returned to Manchester by the end of the season. For the 2015/16 season, Amos was permanently signed by the Bolton Wanderers and given a contract until June 30, 2019.
