The Valley is a football stadium in the Charlton district of London . It is the home ground of the Charlton Athletic football club . It has a total capacity of 27,111 spectators. The facility was built in 1919 and in 1991 it was rebuilt.
The record attendance dates from February 12, 1938, when 75,031 spectators came to the game between Charlton Athletic and Aston Villa .
