Christopher Hugh Martin (born November 4, 1988 in Beccles ) is an England- born Scottish football player who is under contract with the English second division club Derby County .
Career
society
Chris Martin started his playing career in the Football League Championship 2006/07 at Norwich City , for which he had already been active in youth. At the end of the season, Norwich was mid-table and Martin (18 games / 4 goals) was regularly considered by coach Peter Grant. The second season was less fortunate for him, Martin only made seven league appearances. To get more play, he moved in the 2008/09 season on loan to the English fourth division club Luton Town . In Luton , Chris Martin quickly made a name for himself as a regular player, scoring eleven goals in 40 league games. His new club started the season with 30 minus points and was relegated from the fourth division at the end of the season.
On his return to Norwich he found his club in the third-rate Football League One again. After Norwich was relegated from the second division in the 2008/09 season, Paul Lambert had taken over the coaching post at the beginning of the current season . Together with his strike partner Grant Holt , Martin (42 games / 17 goals) formed a very successful strike duo, which made a decisive contribution to winning the League One championship with Norwich City. The return to the Football League Championship 2010/11 was increased by the runner-up behind the Queens Park Rangers and led to promotion to the Premier League . Chris Martin could not maintain his accuracy from the previous year and only scored four goals in 30 appearances.
National team
After he first played for the England U-19 national team, he changed associations and is now running for the Scottish national team.
