Scott Liam Malone (born March 25, 1991 in Rowley Regis ) is an English football player . As a junior player and primarily in the left full-back position and in the left midfield at Wolverhampton Wanderers , he gained international experience at a young age at the Hungarian club Újpest Budapest and was the best academy player of the 2008/09 season ("Academy Player of the Year") the "Wolves".

Athletic career

At a young age, Malone joined the Wolverhampton Wanderers Academy and signed his first professional contract in February 2009, with a deadline of the end of the 2009/10 season and the option of another contract extension. Malone, who primarily feels at home in the left full-back position, is considered the best talent of his year, for which he later received an internal club award and, immediately after signing his contract, was given the opportunity to gain experience in a foreign professional league. The goal was the Hungarian first division club Újpest Budapest , with whom the "Wolves" maintain informal relations in terms of sporting cooperation and the Malone strengthened them in the remaining games of the 2008/09 season - in return the Hungarians loaned Krisztián Simon a player of the same age to the " Wolves ”.

Malone played in a total of seven league games, scored his first goal against Honvéd Budapest and helped Újpest qualify for the newly created UEFA Europa League . During this time, Malone cited getting to know a different culture both outside and on the pitch as enriching, although he found Hungarian football to be “less hectic” and more technically adept - especially instructive in a direct duel against the opposing right winger. Before the start of the 2009/10 season, he returned to Wolverhampton. In the 2-1 win against Russia in Shrewsbury in September 2009, he was the first time for the English U-19 selection on the field.

Between 2009 and 2011 he was loaned to Southend United , Burton Albion and the AFC Bournemouth . In January 2012 moved permanently to AFC Bournemouth.

For the 2012/13 season he moved to Millwall FC .

For the 2015/16 season he moved to Cardiff City .
