Graeme Shinnie (born August 4, 1991 in Aberdeen ) is a Scottish football player who plays for Derby County . His brother Andrew Shinnie is also a professional soccer player.

Career

Graeme Shinnie, who was born in Aberdeen , started his career in 2009 in the Highlands with Inverness Caledonian Thistle . The 17-year-old made his debut for the club on August 1, 2009 in the 1st rune of the Scottish League Cup 2009/10 against Annan Athletic . Shinnie played his first league game in September 2009 against Partick Thistle . In December 2010, the left full-back signed a new three-year deal in Inverness . Between January and August 2011 he was out due to an injury. From the 2011/12 season Graeme played two years together with his brother Andrew at Caley . From the 2012/13 season Shinnie became a regular player. In March 2014 he and his team lost the league cup final against FC Aberdeen on penalties. With the Caley Jags he reached the final of the Scottish Cup in 2015 , which was won against FC Falkirk . It was also Shinnie's last game for Inverness. In June 2015 he moved to Aberdeen FC. During the 2019 summer break, Shinnie moved to the English second division club Derby County .

National team

Graeme Shinnie played twice in the Scottish U-21s in 2012 . Six years later he made his debut in the senior national team against Peru .
