The Football League One 2014/15 was the eleventh season of the English Football League One as the third highest English division behind the Premier League and the Football League Championship as well as the 23rd season of the second highest division of the Football League after the introduction of the Premier League in 1992. It started on August 9, 2014. The last game day was May 2, 2015. The two best-ranked clubs, Bristol City and Milton Keynes Dons , were promoted directly to the Football League Championship, the clubs in positions three to six played in play -off mode for the third promotion place. The play-off final won the third-placed Preston North End . Notts County , Crawley Town , Leyton Orient and Yeovil Town had to relegate .
