The Football League Two 2015/16 was the twelfth season of the English Football League Two as the fourth highest English division behind the Premier League , the Football League Championship and the Football League One as well as the 24th season of the third highest division of the Football League after the introduction of the Premier League in 1992. It started on August 8, 2015. The last matchday was May 7, 2016. The top three clubs, Northampton Town , Oxford United and the Bristol Rovers , went straight to EFL League One, the clubs places four to seven played in play-off mode for fourth promotion place. Seventh-placed AFC Wimbledon won the play-off final . Dagenham & Redbridge and York City had to relegate .
