York City (officially: York City Football Club ) - also known as The Minstermen or Yorkies - is a football club from York in the north of England founded in 1922 . After two relegations in a row since 2017, the club is at home in the National League North , the sixth highest English football league. The club colors are red and white. The home games are played in Bootham Crescent, which has 8,256 seats . The move to the newly built York Community Stadium will take place during the 2019/20 season .
The club spent most of its history in the lower professional leagues (third or fourth level), only in the 1970s you took part in the Football League Second Division for two seasons .
