The Football League Fourth Division 1991/92 was the 34th season of the fourth highest English football league . Following the introduction of the Premier League in 1992, it was then replaced by the Third Division.

The season started with 23 clubs. After 36 match days, FC Aldershot was excluded from the league after the club had to file for bankruptcy in March 1992. Aldershot's results were canceled and the season ended with 22 teams.

The three best-ranked clubs Burnley FC , Rotherham United and Mansfield Town rose directly to the Football League Second Division. The clubs in places four to seven played the fourth promoted team in play-off mode. Here Blackpool FC prevailed.
