The Football League Two 2009/10 was the sixth season of the English Football League Two as the fourth highest English division behind the Premier League , the Football League Championship and the Football League One as well as the 18th season of the third highest division of the Football League after the introduction of the Premier League in 1992. It started on August 8, 2009. The last game day was May 8, 2010. The top three clubs, Notts County , Bournemouth AFC and Rochdale AFC , were promoted directly to Football League One, the clubs in places four to seven played in play-off mode for fourth promotion place. The play-off final won the seventh-placed Dagenham & Redbridge . Grimsby Town and Darlington FC had to relegate .
