The Football League One 2012/13 was the ninth season of the English Football League One as the third highest division behind the Premier League and the Football League Championship as well as the 21st season of the second highest division of the Football League after the introduction of the Premier League in 1992. It started on August 18, 2012. The last game day was April 27, 2013. The two best-ranked clubs, Doncaster Rovers and AFC Bournemouth , were promoted directly to the Football League Championship, the clubs in places three to six played in play -off mode for the third promotion place. The play-off final was won by fourth-placed Yeovil Town . Scunthorpe United , Bury FC , Hartlepool United and Portsmouth FC had to relegate .
