The Football League One 2013/14 was the tenth season of the English Football League One as the third highest division behind the Premier League and the Football League Championship, as well as the 22nd season of the second division of the Football League after the introduction of the Premier League in 1992. It started on August 2, 2013. The last match day was May 3, 2014. The two best-ranked clubs, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Brentford FC , were promoted directly to the Football League Championship, the clubs in third to sixth played in play -off mode for the third promotion place. The play-off final was won by fourth-placed Rotherham United . Tranmere Rovers , Carlisle United , Shrewsbury Town and Stevenage FC had to relegate .
