The Football League Third Division 1947/48football league . The division, which is divided into the north and south, had Lincoln City FC and the Queens Park Rangers their two champions and at the same time promoted to the Football League Second Division . For the two promoted teams in the third division season 1948/49, the two second division clubs Doncaster Rovers and FC Millwall, ranked in the table below, took the places. Nobody had to relegate from both third division seasons, because both the lower-placed northern clubs Halifax Town and AFC New Brighton as well as Norwich City and Brighton & Hove Albion in the south received enough votes in the reelection process of the league association to win in the 1948/49 season to participate again in the Third Division.
