The Football League One 2007/08 was the fourth season of the English Football League One, at the same time the 16th season of the second highest division of the Football League after the introduction of the Premier League and 81st third division season overall. Third division champions were Swansea City and next rose the second-placed Nottingham Forest and after play-off successes against Southend United and Leeds United, the third-placed Doncaster Rovers in the Football League Championship .

For the three promoted teams in the following third division season 2008/09, the three second division teams Leicester City , Scunthorpe United and Colchester United, ranked in the table below, took their places. AFC Bournemouth , FC Gillingham , Port Vale and Luton Town had to relegate from Football League One . Instead of these four clubs, the fourth division champions Milton Keynes Dons , behind them Peterborough United and Hereford United and the play-off winners Stockport County took the free positions in the following season 2008/09 .
