Daniel "Danny" Anthony William Graham (born August 12, 1985 in Gateshead ) is an English football player who was last under contract with the Blackburn Rovers .

Athletic career

Middlesbrough FC

Graham began his active career as a football player in the offspring of his deeply under-class home club, Chester-le-Street Town FC . From the non-league football team he finally came to the youth division of the professional club Middlesbrough FC , where he went through all youth divisions. Since Danny Graham was rarely used by the professionals of Middlesbrough FC, he spent the first few years of his career mainly on loan at lower-class clubs. In the Premier League 2004/05 Graham came for Middlesbrough to eleven first division appearances and scored one goal. After further loan deals to second and third division clubs, Graham switched to third division club Carlisle United on loan in early 2007 . There he scored seven hits in eleven missions and applied for a permanent contract.

Carlisle United

At the beginning of the 2007/08 season, Graham received a two-year contract in Carlisle and scored 15 goals in 47 third division games for his club. In the following season he was again able to score 15 hits. However, since his team was far from promotion to the second division, he moved to the club for the second time in the direction of Watford and signed a two-year contract.

Watford FC

With his new team, Graham started (46 games / 14 goals) in the Football League Championship 2009/10 and finished 16th in the table at the end of the season. The club from Watford , 32 km north-west of London , was able to increase this placement only marginally in the 2010/11 season with 14th place and thus once again missed out on the play-off semi-finals. Danny Graham scored 24 goals in 45 games, becoming the top scorer in the Football League Championship . As an award for his good performance, he was voted into the PFA Team of the Year .

Swansea City

After Watford had previously rejected an offer from Queens Park Rangers , Graham moved to the 2011/12 season for Premier League promoted Swansea City for a transfer fee of £ 3.5 million. With Graham's new club from Swansea , a Welsh club played in the 2011/12 Premier League for the first time in the new English top division founded in 1992.

In January 2013, Graham moved to Sunderland AFC and signed a contract there until the end of the 2015/16 season. In January 2016, Graham was loaned out to Blackburn Rovers for the remainder of the 2015/16 Premier League .
