Jose Baxter (born February 7, 1992 in Bootle ) is an English football player .

Club career

Baxter started playing soccer at the age of six. In 1998 he joined Everton FC . In the first game of the 2008/09 season of Everton FC against Blackburn Rovers , he was substituted on in the 78th minute. As a result, he replaced his teammate James Vaughan as the youngest player who had been used for Everton in the Premier League . A week later, he made his debut in the starting XI, becoming the youngest Everton player on the starting line-up of a Premier League game. In the 2012/13 season he moved to Oldham Athletic in League One.

On August 30, 2013, Baxter signed a three-year contract with Sheffield United . In 2015 he was banned for five months after a positive doping test . On February 19, 2016, he was suspended from the club.

National team

Baxter won with the England U-16 national team at the Victory Shield 2006 and 2007 and the Tournoi de Montaigu 2008. He was a participant in the U-17 European Football Championship in Germany in 2009 , in which the English selection after the preliminary round as the worst of the eight teams retired.
