Peter Patrick Lorimer (born December 14, 1946 in Dundee , Scotland ) is a former Scottish football player .

Striker Peter Lorimer came to Leeds United in 1962 at the age of 15 and made his professional debut in September 1962. This makes him the youngest player in Leeds United history to play for the first team. He didn't play in the first team for two years after that, but his record is likely to last forever. He had his breakthrough at Leeds in 1966. That season he played 34 times for Leeds. In 1968 he won his first title with the League Cup and a year later he became English champion with Leeds. In the same year he was appointed to the Scottish national football team for the first time . He celebrated his greatest successes in 1974 when he was again English champion and went to Germany for the 1974 World Cup and in 1975 when he reached the final of the European Champions Cup. At the World Cup he was unlucky and left without defeat after the preliminary round. Lorimer has played a total of 21 international matches for Scotland.

His team lost 2-0 to Bayern Munich in the European Cup final . In 1979 he left Leeds and initially played for York City . After an interlude in Canada with the Vancouver Whitecaps , he ended his career with Leeds United in 1983.
