Loïc Rémy (born January 2, 1987 in Rillieux-la-Pape near Lyon ) is a French football player .

Career

Rémy's family is originally from Martinique . He was trained in the talent factory of Olympique Lyon . From the 2006/07 season he played as a professional in the top French division, Ligue 1 . For the second half of the 2007/08 season he was awarded to the RC Lens . In the 2008/09 and 2009/10 seasons he was under contract with OGC Nice . In August 2010 he moved to Olympique Marseille for around 15 million euros .

On January 16, 2013 Rémy moved to the Premier League for the Queens Park Rangers . He signed a contract that ran until June 30, 2017. After relegation with QPR, Rémy moved to Newcastle United on loan for the 2013/14 season . On July 28, 2014, he failed the medical check-up at Liverpool FC due to a congenital heart defect . A transfer failed and so Remy returned to the re-promoted Queens Park Rangers .

On August 31, 2014 Rémy moved to Chelsea . He signed a four-year contract until June 30, 2018.

After a temporary loan from Crystal Palace in the 2016/17 season , Rémy switched to the Spanish first division club UD Las Palmas in August 2017 . He has been playing at Lille OSC since July 2018 .

National team

He played for the French U21 national team and scored four goals in his eleven appearances. In the course of 2009, Rémy was appointed to the squad of the French national team several times and made his first appearance on June 2 in a friendly against Nigeria .
