Jonathan Bamba (born March 26, 1996 in Alfortville ) is a French football player . The winger is under contract with Lille OSC .
Career
societies
Bamba, who has Ivorian ancestors, was born in Alfortville and played for the first nine years with CA Charenton and UJA Alfortville in the Paris metropolitan area . He then moved to the youth of AS Saint-Étienne . After playing for the second team in the Championnat de France Amateur for around two years from August 2013 , Bamba was pulled up to the professional team in early 2015 and made his debut on January 25, 2015 in the 0-1 home defeat against Paris Saint-Germain in the Ligue 1 . In the first half of the 2015/16 season he made five league appearances and scored his first competitive goal for the first team in a 2-0 home win against FC Nantes on September 20, 2015 . He was also substituted on for two games in the group stage of the Europa League . For the second half of the season Bamba was awarded to Paris FC , for whom he played 14 times in Ligue 2 by the end of the season. After his return he was awarded to the Belgian first division club VV St. Truiden for six months . Bamba spent the second half of the 2016/17 season on loan from SCO Angers , for whom he scored 3 goals in 16 Ligue 1 games. In the 2017/18 season Bamba developed into a regular at Saint-Étienne and was directly involved in 17 goals of his team in 34 league games.
For the 2018/19 season, after his contract expired, Bamba moved to league rivals OSC Lille , with whom he signed a five-year contract, free of charge .
National team
Bamba has played for various French youth national teams since 2011. From 2017 to 2019 he was used in the U21 , for which he appeared 21 times and scored 5 goals.
