Torsten Kracht (born October 4, 1967 in Grimma ) is a former German soccer player.
Athletic career
Torsten Kracht came from Lok Naunhof to 1. FC Lokomotive Leipzig in 1979 and made his first two league games in the 1984/85 season. In the first few years Kracht had a hard time with the GDR upper division , at that time the Leipzig team were also a top team at the international level. In the final of the 1986/87 European Cup Winners' Cup against Ajax Amsterdam , he was still on the bench in the locomotive's 0-1 defeat .
A year later, Kracht finally belonged to the regular squad of Leipzig, which he remained loyal to until 1994. His greatest success in 1993 was his promotion to the Bundesliga with VfB Leipzig . In 1994 Kracht moved to VfB Stuttgart , but shortly afterwards returned to the now relegated VfB Leipzig in the 2nd Bundesliga .
In 1995 Kracht moved to VfL Bochum for four years , where he matured into a leading player. Best placement with VfL in 1997 was fifth. Kracht then hired at Eintracht Frankfurt , where he was also able to assert himself as a top performer. From 2001, Kracht played again for two years for Karlsruher SC in the 2nd Bundesliga, where he ended his active career.
For the GDR national team , Kracht completed an international match in 1988 and 1990 in which the defender did not score. His second game, on September 12, 1990, was also the last of the GDR selection. He was on the team with Matthias Sammer and Dariusz Wosz , among others , the game was won 2-0 against Belgium.
Later career
After his professional career, Kracht worked on the board of a project development company in Leipzig.
