The twelve teams competed against each other in 3 rounds, so that 33 match days had to be completed. All teams met each other three times, so that each team played two home games against the same opponent in one season. However, it was ensured that no team had more than 17 home games. The champions after 33 match days qualified for participation in the 2014/15 UEFA Champions League , the second-placed for the qualifying round of the same. The third and fourth placed teams competed in qualifying for the 2014/15 UEFA Europa League .
