Igor Vetokele (born March 23, 1992 in Ostend ) is a Belgian - Angolan football player .

Career

First stations

Igor Vetokele made his professional debut on September 17, 2011 when his club Cercle Bruges 0-0 against Lierse SK . He scored a total of eight goals in 34 league games in the course of the 1st division (Belgium) in 2011/12 . After four games and one goal in the 2012/13 season , the 20-year-old attacker moved to FC Copenhagen on August 20, 2012 . With the Danish first division club, Vetokele won (15 league games / 3 goals) the championship in the Danish Superliga 2012/13 and also played in the UEFA Europa League 2012/13 . Vetokele appeared in two games and scored his first European goal in the last group game against Steaua Bucharest . FC Copenhagen was eliminated in Group E as third in the table behind Steaua Bucharest and VfB Stuttgart . In the 2013/14 season he was able to increase his personal performance significantly and with thirteen goals stand out as the fourth best goalscorer in the league. However, his club missed defending the championship title as second behind Aalborg BK . Igor Vetokele also played for the first time in the 2013/14 UEFA Champions League in the group game at Galatasaray Istanbul . He played his second and last game in a 2-0 draw against Real Madrid . Copenhagen was eliminated prematurely as the bottom of the table in Group B with only four points from six games.

Charlton Athletic

On June 24, 2014, the English second division club Charlton Athletic announced the signing of Igor Vetokele. In the Football League Championship 2014/15 , the 22-year-old striker quickly made a name for himself by scoring five goals in the first five league games. In recognition of his good performance, he was voted Player of the Month for August 2014 in the second division. In the summer of 2016 it was awarded to SV Zulte Waregem for six months and from January 2017 to VV St. Truiden for 18 months .

KVC Westerlo

With Vetokele's contract expiring at the end of the season, the player was free. From the 2019/20 season he will move to the Belgian second division KVC Westerlo .
