The Blue Water Arena is a football stadium in Esbjerg , Denmark with 16,968 seats (10,786 seats). It is the home of the Esbjerg fB football club and is part of the Sport & Event Park Esbjerg .

history

Opened in 1955, the stadium hosted the 1999 European Summer Youth Olympic Days in 1999 . The stadium was renovated for the first time for this occasion. In 2004 a new counter stand with seats was built in the venue. The complete renovation of the sports facility ran from March 2008 to August 2009. All grandstands are two-story and except for a few places are covered. 5,500 tons of concrete and 640 tons of steel were used in the stadium. The glass facade has an area of ​​3,760 square meters. The two large video screens each have an area of ​​43 square meters and weigh 4,800 kg. In the stadium there is a central beer tank with a capacity of 6,000 liters, which delivers beer to 20 dispensing systems over a kilometer of piping. The renovation costs of 105 million DKK (around 14 million euros) are shared by Esbjerg Municipality with 72.2 million DKK and the football club Esbjerg fB with 32.8 million DKK.
