The DS Arena is a football stadium in the Danish town of Hobro in the Nordjylland region . It is part of the Hobro Idrætscenter ( German  Hobro Sports Center ). The club Hobro IK , which was promoted to the highest Danish football league in the 2014/15 season, uses the venue for its home games.

In addition to the football stadium, the sports center has two indoor pools with a sauna , a multi-purpose hall , a swimming pool , a boxing hall , a shooting range , a fitness studio and several event rooms. Until 2011 the venue was called Hobro Stadium . The current sponsor name goes back to the Danish DS groups .

In 2011, the stadium was expanded to include a covered main grandstand and a clubhouse with lounge , kitchen equipment and ten changing rooms. The home of the Hobro IK currently has 7,500 seats, of which 435 are covered. The visitor record of 6,583 spectators dates back to August 3, 2014, when Hobro IK competed against Brøndby IF . The stadium was selected for the 2011 U-21 European Football Championship but was not included.

Two years later, on May 13, 2013, the new floodlights were used for the first time . The system with 1,170 lux illuminance comes from the Aalborg Stadium and was adapted to the conditions of the DS Arena.

At the end of 2014, plans to expand the stadium to 10,700 seats were published. The cost is expected to be between 36 and 42 million DKK and the work will be completed by October 2015. In addition to the expansion, 500 VIP seats are planned as well as the improvement of the rooms for the referees, coaches and journalists. There are also four new changing rooms, new sanitary facilities and two video walls .
