The MCH-Arena is a football stadium in the Danish city of Herning in the Midtjylland region . The facility was previously called the SAS Arena. The owner is the MCH Messecenter Herning. The grandstands are completely covered and offer space for 11,809 spectators, 7,409 of which are seated. The construction costs were around DKK 93 million (approx. EUR 12 million).
The football club FC Midtjylland plays its home games here. In the opening game on March 27, 2004, FC Midtjylland beat AB Copenhagen 6-0. The stadium meets the requirements for UEFA Europa League and international matches to be played. The stadium is designed in such a way that it could be expanded to accommodate 50,000 spectators.
The main building of the stadium houses a restaurant, conference rooms, VIP and sponsor lounges, cabins for teams and referees.
In 2011 the stadium was one of four venues for the U-21 European Football Championship in Denmark. In August 2013, the stadium also served as the main venue for the European championships in show jumping, dressage and dressage for riders with disabilities .
