history

The Hobro IK, which was founded in 1913, has had its most successful time in Danish football in recent years. While the club was still playing in the third division in the 2009/10 season, in 2014 he was promoted to 2nd in the Danish 1st Division , behind Silkeborg IF , for the first time in the club's history in the first Danish league, the Superligaen . The club was also able to cause a sensation in the Danish Football Cup in the 2013/14 season when they reached the quarter-finals and were knocked out 1: 3 against FC Nordsjælland .

The newcomer was also able to successfully manage the first season in the Superliga 2014/15 and finish the season safely in 7th place. As the bottom of the table in the 2015/16 season , Hobro IK had to relegate to the 1st division, but rose again straight away. The club played first class from 2017 to 2020 .
