The Halos was an American doo-wop vocal quartet from the early 1960s.
Band history
The quartet was originally hired as an accompanying choir for individual performers; for example for Tommy Hunt , Bobby Vinton , Johnny Nash , Little Eva , Johnny Mathis , Dion , The Coasters , Connie Francis , Brian Hyland and Ben E. King . For example, the group took over the background in the recording of Pretty Little Angel Eyes by Curtis Lee .
With the song Nag they had their own greatest success in 1961 and reached number 25 in the US charts. The success of Nag opened many doors for the group and soon the Halos were in great demand as a background choir. Apart from two Curtis Lee Singles, the group in hits like Who Put The Bomp by Barry Mann and Gene Pitney Every Breath I Take in and My Heart Cries For You to hear from Ben E. King.
