The SAS Ligaen 2001/02 was the twelfth season of the top division in Danish football, which was played by the Danish Football Association DBU . The season began on July 21, 2001 with the defending champions FC Copenhagen's game against Viborg FF and ended on May 16, 2002.

The twelve teams competed against each other in three rounds, so that 33 match days had to be completed. The teams that finished in the first six places after 22 games had a total of 17 home games, the teams in the bottom six places a total of 16 home games. The last two descended directly.
