The Fotbollsallsvenskan 2002 was the 78th season of the highest Swedish football league . It started on April 6th and ended on November 2nd, 2002.
36 years after the last triumph, Djurgårdens IF won the ninth championship title in the club's history. Although the club won the Lennart Johansson Cup by six points , the championship was only decided on the last day of the match. For the first time the team managed the double .
At the bottom of the table IFK Göteborg was able to save itself from relegation from relegation. In contrast, IFK Norrköping and newly promoted Kalmar FF had to go into the second-class Superettan .
