The Fotbollsallsvenskan 1943/44 was the 20th season of the highest Swedish football league . The season began on August 1, 1943 and ended on June 11, 1944.
Malmö FF won the first championship title in the club's history. Since last year's double winner IFK Norrköping was beaten 4: 3 after extra time in the cup final , the double was also successful . Newcomers IK Brage and Sandvikens IF were relegated to Division 2 . Curious: Helsingborgs IF managed to stay in the league with just one win of the season.
