Fotbollsallsvenskan 1977

The 1978 Fotbollsallsvenskan was the 54th season of the top Swedish football league . Between April 8 and October 29, 1978, the Swedish football champions were played in it.

Ten years after winning the Swedish championship for the first time, last year 's cup winner Östers IF was able to bring the Von Rosens Cup to Växjö for the second time in the club's history . The team supervised by the later coach of the Swedish national team Lars Arnesson with supports such as Björn Andersson , Göran Hagberg and Karl-Gunnar Björklund relegated last year's champions Malmö FF with a six point lead to second place.

Promoted Västerås SK could not hold the class and descended tied with Örebro SK in the second division 2 .
