The Allsvenskan 2015 was the 91st season of the highest Swedish football league . It began on April 4 with the first match day and ended on October 31, 2015 with the last match day. The defending champion was Malmö FF .

16 teams will play for the Lennart Johansson Cup , which is awarded as a trophy for the Swedish championship title, as well as for a place in the European Cup and against relegation to the second-rate Superettan , in a two-legged game over 30 match days .

The league leaders after the last match day will be recognized as the Swedish national champions and will take part in qualifying for the 2016/17 UEFA Champions League . The two teams placed behind will advance to qualifying for the 2016/17 UEFA Europa League alongside the winner of the national cup, which will be determined by the summer . The two bottom of the table will be relegated directly to the Superettan, the third from bottom will play in a relegation round consisting of a two-legged friend against the third-placed team in the second division.
