Andreas Johansson (born March 10, 1982 in Halmstad ) is a Swedish football player . The right-footed defensive midfielder , who once played for the Swedish national team in 2009 , has played his career so far in his home country and in Germany.
Career
Johansson's career began in 1987 at Getinge IF as a youth, from where he joined the youth team at Halmstads BK in 1997 . There he moved up to the professional squad in 2002, but initially wavered between starting line-up and bench. Under coach Jonas Thern he was promoted to a regular player over long stretches of the 2003 season, after his resignation in the autumn of that year he moved back to the second line under successor Janne Andersson . Nevertheless, he had played his way into the Swedish U-21 national team , for which he took part in the 2004 European Championship . After a 3-2 defeat after extra time against Portugal in the game for third place, he missed a medal. In the 2006 season he finally managed to break through at club level under Andersson and two years later he was in the starting line-up in all 30 games of the season. He also moved into the focus of the Swedish national team , making his international debut on January 29, 2009 in a 1-0 win in the friendly against Mexico in Oakland. This remains his only use in the selection jersey. After 165 top division games, he also said goodbye to Sweden in the summer of 2009.
On June 23, 2009 Johansson signed a contract with the then Bundesliga club VfL Bochum , which was dated until June 30, 2012. The parties have agreed not to disclose the transfer fee. In the 2009/10 season he barely found a foothold in the first division club in the relegation battle, at times he only ran for the second team of the Ruhr Area Club. At the end of the season he was relegated to the second division with Bochum , but remained loyal to the club. Under Friedhelm Funkel , who after Heiko Herrlich and interim coach Dariusz Wosz took over the team at the beginning of the season, he established himself in the regular formation after a weak start to the season and after reaching third place in the table was also in the starting eleven in both Bundesliga relegation games against Borussia Mönchengladbach . Ultimately, the team missed promotion after a 0-1 defeat and a 1-1 draw. After a bad start into the following season, Andreas Bergmann took over the coaching position in September 2011 , and Johansson moved into the second tier and was eliminated.
In January 2012 Johannson moved to IFK Norrköping . There he met again Janne Andersson, under whom he had made his breakthrough at HBK. At first he played in midfield, later he moved into the defensive chain. At most he missed individual games by being suspended, and in five years he was in the starting line-up for all his stakes. In the 2015 season he was part of the team that won the championship title for the club again 26 years after the last success. He was also in the starting line-up in each of the club's qualifying games for the group stage of the 2016/17 UEFA Champions League , but against Norwegian representative Rosenborg Trondheim in the second qualifying round after a 3-1 away defeat despite a 3: 2 home successes after 0-2 deficit the end. After a sixth place in the table in the 2017 season , he intervened with the team in the championship race again in the following season, ultimately finishing the season as runner-up with the club.
Already during the current season 2018 , his ex-club Halmstads BK, playing in the second-rate Superettan , announced the return of Johannsons for the following season in September of that year .
